SOMEHOW, WE ALL SEEM CONNECTED

Posted in Uncategorized by Keep it together now on August 25th, 2008

Got out to see Justin and Steve’s show at Subliminal Projects saturday. Good looking work. if you where to braid retro aesthetics with a unique contemporary design language and great colors on aged paper with a dollop of wit for good measure you might come close to the works on display. Steve and Justin also run a design firm worth checking out, National Forest. Oh yeah after Pho 87 and before the art show we came across this mad max gardening truck.

Went to the free show at the La Brea Tar pits tonight thanks to Brooke.
Awesome sounds in person, the videos don’t do it justice.

Some more interesting/strange video art. He collaborates with Dan Deacon.

cold coincidence

sThis morning the line director at my place of employment sent these pictures of ice formations in Antartica to me. Fucking so beautiful they make me want to sell everything I own to buy a Winnebago with side pontoons to go find them. Some of the formations are actually frozen waves. The water freezes when it hits the air after bursting through the ice. This last saturday Diego and I where on our way to go hiking when we passed a yard sale. The guy having the yard sale was selling the icicles from the Transformer movie. You never know when you will need a fiberglass or styrofoam icicle.

First window display. Not my first vision of what i wanted to do but it will work under our given budget. Its at American Rag on La Brea.

Heres a T that I designed that will be sold to the masses at Urban Outfitters. Thinking about communication when I designed it. The shapes are supposed to be devices used for telecommunication. I titled T “transitor” but by the time it made it to Urban it ended up being called “Aint it fun”

This person’s portrait has been stuck in my head for about 2weeks now.
Finally got a version on paper after finishing another piece.
I think there are a few more portraits of this person to come.

Heres a new favorite song/video
