Andy and I went to some galleries this last weekend. Oh yeah check out Andy’s work. We saw some interesting work.

I always love looking at Wangechi Mutu’s abstracted figures.

We went into the building that houses Honor Fraser and Angstrom Gallery.

Great work in both the galleries there.

At Angstrom there was Colin Chillag. I don’t think I have ever seen his work before.

His work brings to mind Robert Crumb, if Crumb was a retired science professor who knew how to paint.

Really interesting layering going on and the size was impressive.

At Honor Frasier was some great work.

The artist in the front room, Andre Ethier, had a great technique that I couldn’t figure out.

The paintings, although using a bright palette for the most part, where kind of disturbing and grotesque.(good times)

Cathy Akers had the back room with some great sculptures displayed. I didn’t get any pictures of the outside of the pieces but one of them required that you peep through various lenses to see what was inside. I had to use the macro setting to get a visible picture, turned out nice.
